Montreal, QC (PRWEB) August 15, 2007 -- Everest Poker www.everestpoker.com today announced the winners of its most recent Everest Poker Avalanche satellite poker tournament. The twelve finalists from this game will move to the Everest Poker Avalanche online final, held on September 15, 2007.

"We've got two more Round 3 online poker tournaments scheduled, and I encourage our players to sign up and compete," said Jonathan May, Everest Poker property manager. "Just imagine being able to play for your share of $1,000,000 during the live final round on a cruise ship in the Mediterranean while enjoying the famous Everest Poker hospitality."

The dozen players from the August 11 tournament that are moving to the online final are as follows: neo_x_hiro from The Netherlands, DaGuru from France, terschelling from The Netherlands, kender from Japan, ganotec from Canada, Reineck from Germany, Kraker from The Netherlands, claudeco from France, d3fault from Spain, Stef61 from Germany, granduc from Switzerland, and kocoliso from Spain.

"When the September 15th online final reaches its final ten players, that's when the real fun begins," added May. "We can't wait to see the results of the live game on the Costa Cruise ship!"

Spanning nine months, the Everest Poker Avalanche involves both online play as well as live poker games. The tournament features a three-round structure that allows players at all levels to join in. Round 1 satellites are designed for players looking for little up-front risk: buy-ins are $3+.30 or $11+1. Round 2 satellites are ideal for players that are more confident in their ability and wish to save time - the buy-in is $56+5.

For players with big bankrolls that want to skip right to the top, Everest Poker is offering two choices: monthly Round 3 satellite events with a $530+30 buy-in as well as entrance to the Online Avalanche Finale for $5000+300.

Declining Gaming Revenues and Air Traffic Continue to Plague Vegas

Amy Calistri

Summer is considered the "off season" in Las Vegas as many tourists pass on the desert destination in the heat of July. But July 2008 was more off than usual, as challenging economic conditions continue to take their toll. Last week the Nevada Gaming Control Board issued their monthly report indicating that gaming revenues were down 12.97% in July 2008 compared to July 2007. Clark County turned in worse numbers than even the state average; Strip revenues were down 14.67%, downtown dipped 16.39% and Mesquite was off 32.42%. + more.
